Computer Lab

Students were very excited to get into the school's computer lab with Mrs. Andrew.  For some, it was their first time in the lab at Happy Valley.  They practiced logging in with their own username and visited solar system sites in order to research the planet of their choice.   

POP ART- Warhol Style!

Div. 9 has been learning about the interesting life of Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement of the 1950s and 60s.  We've been reading and writing about Warhol and Pop Art, and creating images of ourselves in the artist's style.  Our art is fun, very colourful, and practices multiplication of the images.

Student of the Week- Jan. 21- 25

AVA

Ava shared her favorite stuffy that she has had since she was a baby.  She explained how her stuffy holds all her favorite memories from when she was little.  Ava also shared a creative and life-like lion she made out of shells and a hot glue gun.  She inspired her teacher and classmates to try to create a shell animal next summer.

Nicholas

Nick captured our attention with his 2nd place trophy for the BMX Nationals.  Students were also excited to see his "Lord of the Rings" helmet that his uncle made for him.

Curtis

In addition to presenting his poster on himself, Curtis shared his voodoo doll and answered our questions.

Styrofoam Trays Needed

We will be starting a printmaking unit in the next month and need styrofoam trays for our projects.  Please save and send in any styrofoam trays  (ie. meat, cookie) and we will make good use of them.  We'll be sure to recycle once we're finished!  Thanks so much.

Student of the Week- December 17-21

Shayla

Shayla wowed her teacher and classmates with a DVD of her dance performance.  Our students have such a wide variety of talents and it is interesting for others to witness their abilities and interests.  Shayla also shared her "Elf on the Shelf" and favorite stuffy.
