First Nations Presentation

We were so lucky today to have presenters John and Earl Claxton in our classroom.  They told us wonderful stories about how their people throughout history have used the moon and stars to guide them by means of navigation.  The children were so enthralled with their oral stories and they loved the information on making tea using the bark of an Arbutus tree.  I think we may have to try that! They brought in a talking stick that had carvings of the spirit that controls the weather.  The children loved to hold the talking stick. John and Earl will be back to tell more stories after Winter Break.
