Science Can Be So Much Fun!

We have started the year learning about Space.  We have be learning about our solar system and the planets. Everyone did an amazing job learning the planets in order from the sun!   Next, we will learn about the phases of the moon, stars and constellations. We are having a great time making solar system lapbooks and doing experiments all over the school!    We used rolls of toilet paper to show the distance of each planet from the sun.   The distances ranged from 4 sheets of toilet paper to 256 sheets!  Boy we made a mess in the hallway with this experiment!

We looked closely at the rotation of the earth on its axis causing day and night.  We used a light and and an apple to represent the sun and earth.  We all took turns showing day and night with partners.
